Methodology
Data source
All buyback figures come from DefiLlama's open fee adapters, using the holders revenue metric: value that a protocol returns to its token holders. Prices and market caps come from DefiLlama's coins API, which sources CoinGecko data.
Holders revenue is broader than buybacks. It can also include staking rewards, fee sharing and burns. This site only lists tokens whose DefiLlama methodology says the holders revenue is mainly buybacks, and each token page shows DefiLlama's own description of what is counted.
Mechanism labels
- Buyback
- Tokens are bought on the open market and held by a treasury, fund or DAO.
- Buyback & burn
- Tokens are bought and then burned, reducing supply.
- Buyback & distribute
- Tokens are bought and handed to stakers or holders.
- Mixed
- The source figure also includes flows that are not buybacks, such as staking rewards. Treat it as an upper bound.

Calculations
- Days
- Days are UTC. The current day is excluded until it is complete, so "latest day" is yesterday (UTC).
- 7D, 30D, 1Y
- Sums of daily buybacks over that many days, ending on the latest complete day.
- 30D change
- The last 30 days compared with the 30 days before that.
- Annualized
- The last 30 days of buybacks multiplied by 365/30. It assumes the current pace continues.
- Buyback yield
- Annualized buybacks divided by current market cap. It is a rough measure of how much of the circulating value the program would buy in a year at today's pace, not a return anyone receives.
- Active vs inactive
- A program is active if it recorded any buyback in the last 30 days. Some programs buy weekly or in batches, so a zero day does not mean the program stopped.
Updates
The site is rebuilt hourly. DefiLlama adapters usually fill in the previous day within a few hours of UTC midnight, and they sometimes revise past days. Figures here follow those revisions on the next rebuild.
Limitations
- Numbers are only as accurate as the underlying DefiLlama adapter. Check the adapter before relying on a figure.
- Off-chain or discretionary buybacks that a project doesn't publish may be missing or delayed.
- Market caps depend on circulating supply estimates, which vary between data providers.
- Nothing on this site is financial advice.
